About the event

BURNT. BLACK. CRISPY. BISCUIT

A Raw Performance Reading — Written & Performed by Rashida Strober

What is a burnt black crispy biscuit?

It is the name Rashida Strober was called because of the darkness of her skin.

The title comes from the cruel names and insults directed at Rashida—words meant to make her feel black, ugly, unwanted, and ashamed of the skin she was born with.

This raw performance reading takes those personal experiences and puts them on stage without cleaning them up or making them comfortable.
